The Paper Moon Society is a yearlong book club for creative women who crave inspiration, connection, and a touch of literary magic. We’ll read, reflect, and gather virtually — not just to talk about books, but to reconnect with our creativity and each other. Think: virtual wine nights, heartfelt conversations, and stories that stay with you long after the last page.

The Paper Moon Society Ethos
The Paper Moon Society was founded by Juliana Mary Nahas, stylist, aesthetic strategist and product photographer, out of a desire for connection with fellow women creatives.
Our Ethos
We believe creativity is not a straight line, but a tide.
It moves in cycles, in seasons, in waves of inspiration.
We honor the feminine way of working:
intuitive, fluid, and alive with possibility.
We gather knowing that when women come together,
our power multiplies. Ideas bloom, courage grows, and magic happens.
We create without apology,
without perfection,
without waiting for permission.
Origins of the Paper Moon
Written in 1933 and popularized in the 1940s through recordings by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, the lyrics “it’s only a paper moon, hanging over a cardboard sea, but it wouldn’t be make-believe, if you believed in me”, is a song about illusion, imagination, and how love or belief can turn something flimsy and artificial into something real and meaningful.
The Paper Moon Society is a space where women can gather to turn their heart’s desire and imagination into something real; letting books, stories, and connection guide our path.
